Position Title: Part-Time Water District Maintenance Crew Member

Hourly Wage: Determined based on experience

Hours: Part-time, approx. 20–25 hours per week (Monday through Friday, flexible daytime hours, Weekend and evening could be necessary )

Location: Mitchellville Water District

Job Summary

The Mitchellville Water District is looking for a reliable, part-time Maintenance Worker to help keep our local water systems running smoothly. This hands-on role involves general upkeep, equipment checks, and manual labor. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Upkeep: Maintain and organize equipment and mowing water district grounds.
  • Equipment Checks: Inspect pumps, motors, valves, and meters on a regular schedule
  • System Repairs: Assist with digging, trenching, and backfilling for water main and service line repairs.
  • Tool Operation: Safely use common hand tools, power tools, lawn care machinery, and small pumps.
  • Record Keeping: Log daily meter readings and maintenance tasks. Mark water lines for JULIE’s and use the Positive Response system. 

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50–75 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Basic computer knowledge and mechanical skills and willingness to learn water system safety guidelines.
